WATCH: Thousands Dip Tires in Mississippi in Fort Madison on Final Day of RAGBRAI

By Ellen Kurt

FORT MADISON, Iowa - RAGBRAI riders finished strong in Fort Madison today. Those that started in Council Bluffs and rode all the way across the state now have 407 miles under their tires and seven days of memories to carry with them.

Thousands of Register's Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa participants did the annual dipping of their tires in the Mississippi River as they breathed a sigh of relief to have another RAGBRAI in the books.

Photojournalist Mike Griffith shows us all the excitement of finishing the statewide adventure.
