Volunteers Wrap Presents for a Good Cause

By Larry Burkum

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - It's a task - or a calling - that some are proficient at, and others dread -- and the result shows.

It's wrapping presents during the holiday season. On this Saturday at Lindale Mall, "Wrapping For a Cause", with the Arc of East Central Iowa.

On these shopping days through Christmas Eve, people will take the gifts from shoppers, and return them with a presentation that looks professional for wrapping.

The Arc of East Central Iowa's mission is to help those affected by disabilities.

" I like it - it's my thing and I only have one child and... I like to make bows!" said Maureen Mack, one of the volunteer gift wrappers.

The service is offered through December 24th during each shopping day at Lindale Mall.
