Vinton Teen Injured In Car Crash Near Center Point

CENTER POINT - A Vinton teenager was hurt in a single crash Wednesday evening near Center Point, officials said.
Emergency crew responded around 10:45 p.m. to the crash on Lewis Access Road west of Bayou Lane. According to the Linn County sheriff's office, the 17-year-old driver was westbound when he lost control, went into the ditch and hit a tree.
According to officials, first responders took the driver to St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids for non-life threatening injuries. The driver was wearing a seat belt, and there was no one else was in the car. Authorities are still investigating.
