DAVENPORT, Iowa (AP) Vice President Joe Biden wrapped up two days of campaigning in Iowa with a stop at a Davenport activities center for seniors.

Biden sat with about 20 members and staff of the Center for Active Seniors Inc. on Wednesday afternoon before leaving the state.

He says some politicians who talk about cutting Social Security or Medicare wrongly think it appeals to young voters. He says they don't understand that cutting such programs places a financial burden on younger people who will take care of their parents.

The visit ended a campaign trip featuring two large public events where Biden criticized presumed Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney and several surprise visits to eastern Iowa communities.

Earlier Wednesday, Biden spoke to more than 500 supporters in Dubuque and met volunteers in Clinton.
