CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The United Way of East Central Iowa is looking for veterans to volunteer, and for people to volunteer to help veterans.
Organizers say this is a new way for the community to view veterans; seeing them not only as a cause but also as a solution.

Linn County's Director of Veteran Affairs says several events coming up.

"For example, volunteering for our "Standown" event that's usually held in September, or volunteering for our "Sleepout" which is going to be held November 9th and 10th," Donald Tyne, director of Linn County Veteran Affairs said.

"Veterans in Volunteerism" features opportunities for people of all ages. More opportunities are posted under the news links section of KCRG.com.
