MASON CITY, Iowa (AP) - Authorities say a Union Pacific Railroad worker has died after being pinned between two railroad cars in Mason City.
The Globe Gazette reports police say 36-year-old Georgiy Soloviyov, of Stanhope, was found on the tracks in the rail yard early Tuesday. He was working on a railroad car coupling when another car rolled into him, pinning him between the two cars. Soloviyov died at the scene.
Union Pacific spokesman Mark Davis says the accident, which was reported about 2:30 a.m., is under investigation.
