WATERLOO, Iowa - Waterloo Police are investigating two burglaries that happened about 24 hours apart. Both burglaries happened at sports bars.
At about 4 a.m. Wednesday, Packers Inn at 201 Rath St. Was burglarized and ransacked. The thieves caused about $3,000 worth of damage to the establishment. They also took about $500 worth of alcohol, police said.
On Thursday morning, officers were called to investigate a break-in at the Locker Room Lounge at 1918 Hawthorne Ave. A female employee arrived to open the bar at around 5:15 a.m. She told police she found two people already inside the building. They fled when she arrived, police said.
Police said the burglars damaged some of the property inside the Locker Room Lounge as well. The only items reported taken were cigarettes and lighters, police said.
