Two People Burned in Davenport House Fire

DAVENPORT, Iowa (AP) — Two people have been burned in a fire that erupted in a bedroom of a Davenport home.

Mike Hayman, of the Davenport Fire Department, says the two were sent to University Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City and are in critical condition. Hayman says they suffered serious burns in the blaze, which was reported a little after 8:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Hayman says firefighters kept the flames from spreading beyond the bedroom and rescued the two people from the home.

The victims' names haven't been released. No one else was in the house when the fire started.

The fire cause is being investigated.
