MONDAMIN, Iowa (AP) Two people have died in a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 29 in western Iowa.

The Council Bluffs Nonpareil reports that the crash occurred Monday morning in Harrison County near Mondamin.

Authorities say a pickup traveling south on the interstate went off the road around 6:50 a.m., overcorrected and crossed the center median, hitting the side of a northbound semitrailer.

The crash sent the semi into a ditch.

The Iowa State Patrol says one person in the pickup and one person in the semi died from their injuries.

Another person in the semi was flown to an Omaha hospital.

Authorities have not released the names of any of the victims.
