Two Injured After Semi, SUV Collide Near Solon

BIG GROVE, Iowa – Officials say two people were injured after a semi truck and midsize SUV collided on Hwy 1 Friday night.

According to officers on the scene, the accident occurred north of Solon at about 7:15 p.m. near the intersection of Hwy 1 and 110th St. NE.

The two occupants of the mangled SUV were both injured in the crash and taken to a nearby hospital by ambulance, police said.

The driver of the semi was uninjured, and remained on the scene past 9 p.m. to speak with state troopers.

The officers on scene directing traffic were unable to give anymore details about the circumstances of the crash at this time.
