DECORAH, Iowa Two people were taken to northeastern Iowa hospitals after their car collided with a semi about 10 miles north of Decorah.

According to an Iowa State Patrol crash report, the car was headed westbound on 350th Street and the truck, from the Postville, Iowa-based Primestar, was traveling northbound on Highway 52. The car failed to stop at a stop sign and struck the truck broadside, according to the report.

At least one of the victims in the car was airlifted to a nearby hospital with undisclosed injuries.

Both Nestor Guerra Castellanos, 21, of Decorah, and Wilson Garcia Ordonez, 22, of Decorah, were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash. The driver of the truck, 55-year-old Thomas Martin, was uninjured, the report said.

The Winneshiek County Sheriff's Office, the Winneshiek County Ambulance Service, the Decorah Fire Department, and Med Link of LaCrosse all assisted State Patrol in the crash.
