CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - Two Cedar Rapids residents face burglary and theft charges after they were arrested in connection to a burglary early Friday morning.

Michael Harvey, 19, and a 17-year-old male are accused of participating in a burglary at 362 Claudette Ln NE that was reported around 5:32 a.m. According to police, someone forced their way into the residence through a broken window, took a television and other items.

During the investigation, the Claudette Lane resident told police Harvey had been at the house earlier in the evening. Officers also discovered Harvey's name had been mentioned during a suspicious vehicle report in the 6500 block of Minden Ln. NE around 5 a.m., about 30 minutes prior to the burglary report. Officers found Harvey at 127 Summer Circle Ln. NE where he was supposedly staying with a friend, and were able to connect him and the 17-year-old male to the burglary.

Both were arrested on suspicion of third-degree burglary and second-degree theft.

Police recovered the items taken during the burglary. Harvey was taken to the Linn County Jail, and the 17-year-old male was taken to the Linn County Juvenile Detention Center.
