HANLONTOWN, Iowa (AP) — Authorities say two people have been killed in a collision between a semitrailer and a van in northern Iowa.
The accident occurred about 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Iowa Highway 9 and Wheelerwood Road, just east of Hanlontown. The Iowa State Patrol says the eastbound truck struck a van that didn't stop at the intersection.
The patrol says two people in the van were killed and other passengers were taken to Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa in Mason City.
There was no immediate word on whether the truck driver was injured.
The names of the people involved and other details about the crash have not been released. The accident is being investigated.
