JOICE, Iowa (AP) — A 76-year-old truck driver is recovering from injuries suffered when his semitrailer collided with a train at a crossing near Joice in northern Iowa.
Wayne Roberts, of Clear Lake, was taken to Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa, in Mason City after Monday's accident. He was listed in good condition on Tuesday.
Union Pacific spokesman Mark Davis says there were white crossing warnings and stop signs at the accident site.
Davis says the locomotive was pulling 11 empty cars. It wasn't clear yet how fast the train was moving.
