Trial Delayed Again for Man Accused of Killing Evelyn Miller

WEBSTER CITY, Iowa (AP) — The trial for a man charged with killing 5-year-old Evelyn Miller in 2005 has been delayed again.

Casey Frederiksen's trial on charges of first-degree murder and first-degree sexual abuse had been set to begin May 6 after being delayed from its original start date of Oct. 28 last year.

Mason City television station KIMT says his attorneys requested another delay, which was granted Monday. The new trial date is Sept. 15.

The 34-year-old Frederiksen was arrested last fall and charged in the girl's death in July 2005. Frederiksen was the live-in boyfriend of the girl's mother.

The trial was moved to Hamilton County from Floyd County because of publicity about the case.
