DUBUQUE, Iowa - From the outside it looks like just another quiet afternoon at The Bank in downtown Dubuque. But inside, a band with a name just as unique as their sound, is making a quite a ruckus.
"I have red, usually extremely red hair and so that's how we got Ruby and my sister is this bleach blonde so we were like lets do something to bring it together, RubyBlonde," said Lexi Parr, lead singer of RubyBlonde.
RubyBlonde has already been in the National spotlight, "We tried out for Sibling Superstar, and that's on MTV, right now we are still in the running to get to L.A. and we are super excited," said Parr.
But lead singer, Lexi Parr is no stranger to the national spotlight herself. "I tried out for The Voice, and I got into some of the pre-televised things," said Parr.
The attention the band's received stems from their unique sound and emotional lyrics about their own life experiences.
But for this band, its not just about making it big, its about inspiring their listeners, "If putting in weird guitar screeches and blasting some high notes make you happy, then do it," said Parr.
