Traffic Stop Leads to Meth Arrest in Waterloo

WATERLOO, Iowa -- A Gilbertville man is in jail on a $106,000 bond after Black Hawk County authorities found a “considerable amount” of meth in his vehicle.
According to a Black Hawk County Sheriff’s Office news release, a deputy pulled over 35-year-old Chad Weyland at 4 a.m. on Franklin Street in Waterloo. Weyland was speeding, police said.
Police said Weyland was determined to be drunk and was arrested for drunken driving. While preparing his vehicle to be towed, police said the deputy found a “considerable amount” of meth in the vehicle.
The exact amount of meth found in the car has not been released.
Weyland was arrested and faces charges of possession of meth with intent to deliver, Iowa drug tax stamp violation and drunken driving.
