Traffic Cameras get Green Light, Drivers will get Warnings
CEDAR RAPIDS - The green light has been given to turn on the first red light and speed cameras in Cedar Rapids.
At midnight the project that has been in the works for more than a year will occur when the red light camera goes lives at Second Avenue and 10th Street East, Cedar Rapids police said. Violators will receive a warning violation for the next 30 days, at the end of which violators will be fined and expected to either pay the fine or proceed through the appeals process. Each violator will receive a letter with instructions on how to view their violation online and make their decision on how to proceed.
