By Aaron Hepker

City Manager Jeff Pomeranz has only been on the job a week, but he has big plans for the future of Cedar Rapids. He was the city manager in West Des Moines and helped bring 6,000 new jobs to that community and increased property values and the tax base considerably. He answers viewer-submitted questions about flood recovery, his salary and roads and talks about why he left the comfort of West Des Moines to tackle the challenges in Cedar Rapids.

The second part of this To the Point with Beth Malicki focuses on cleaning up rental properties in Cedar Rapids. Recently the city changed how often landlords need to register their properties and landlords now have to adhere to a “crime free” policy. We talk about the new rule and some of the backlash from landlords.
