TIPTON, Iowa - The Tipton Police Department has identified the teenager found dead in a home there Sunday morning.

Tipton Police responded to call to go to a house the 500 block of East Fifth Street at 10:50 a.m., Sunday, where officers discovered the body of 15-year-old Keifla Thomas Robinson. The department has not revealed whether Robinson was alone or many other details about the investigation.

"He was the only person that was deceased that was there," said Bill Kietzman, Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation special agent in-charge.

However, Kietzman said he couldn't comment on whether there was anyone alive in the home when police arrived, or give the whereabouts of Robinson's parents or guardians.

Kietzman said Tipton Police are handling most questions on the case. A representative from the department could not be reached for comment Monday.

Dick Grimoskas, superintendent for the Tipton Community School District, said Robinson was an eigth grade student at Tipton Middle School. He joined the district in fifth grade, Grimoskas said.

"Very quiet young man," he said. "Very nice young man."

Tipton is on spring break this week, but Grimoskas said counselors and other resources will be available for students when classes resume on Monday.

At this time, the school district is in the dark about what happened to Robinson, Grimoskas said.

"At this time, it's being called a 'medical event,'" he said. "I don't know what that means."

The Iowa State Medical Examiner's Office on Monday said an autopsy found no trauma to Robinson's body.

The cause and manner of his death are pending further test results, police said.
