Time is Running Out in Dubuque to Cash in on Solar Deals

By Katie Stinson

DUBUQUE, Iowa - Time is running out for people in Dubuque who want to cash in on some expiring solar energy deals. The organization, "Green Dubuque," is working to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 50 percent by the year 2030.

It says solar energy is one of the best ways to meet that goal. "Green Dubuque" says Alliant Energy is offering rebates to offset some of the costs of installing solar panels.

"If you combine the state federal incentives with this Alliant rebate, you're talking about up to 70 percent off the cost of the solar installation...it's incredible," Eric Coffman, a "Green Dubuque" board member said.

Alliant's rebate ends December 31st. People who apply by then have until the end of October to finish their projects.
