TIFFIN, Iowa A Tiffin teenager delighted her community by marching in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade Thursday morning. 16-year-old Cooper Horning played the trumpet in Macy's Great American Marching Band, which helped quick-off the parade and also escorted in Santa Claus at the conclusion.

"We are proud, very proud of her," said Jeremy Horning, Cooper's dad. "It's something she really enjoys doing."

Cooper has been playing the trumpet for about six years and has fallen in love with it, according to her mom Stephanie Horning. "She just loves it," she said. "And it's great to see her having success."

This is the second year Cooper has marched in the parade. She qualified last year by sending in a videotape of her playing. This year she was allowed back without an audition.

"She's a great kid," said Bethany Horning, her stepmom. "And her little sister certainly looks up to her."

The family sat together and watched the parade Thursday morning. They saw Cooper multiple times.

"Sometimes I have no idea who is on TV, I don't know them," said Chase Horning, Coopers 8-year-old sister. "I'm like hey, I know her."
