WALL LAKE, Iowa (AP) — Three northwestern Iowa men have been charged with kidnapping for allegedly taking a migrant worker to several locations in Wall Lake and assaulting him repeatedly in 2009.
The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation says 26-year-old Thomas Schroeder the second, of Wall Lake, 26-year-old Steven Schroeder of Odebolt, and 42-year-old Bradley Jacobsen of Wall Lake are charged with first-degree kidnapping.
They allegedly assaulted Rafael Trevino at his home, at an abandoned factory, and at a bar on Aug. 3, 2009, leaving Trevino with a traumatic brain injury among other injuries.
They turned themselves in on Wednesday, were booked on the charges and released.
Attorneys were not listed in the online court files. Attorneys listed for them in a federal civil lawsuit involving the case did not immediately return calls.
