IOWA CITY, Iowa - Thousands of people lined the streets in downtown Iowa City Friday for the annual University of Iowa homecoming parade. The parade will be followed by a concert on the Pentacrest featuring Matt & Kim and Grand Funk Railroad.
This centennial celebration of homecoming is expected to bring Hawkeye alums from all across the nation back to Iowa City.
Saturday the Hawkeyes will host the Minnesota Golden Gophers at Kinnick Stadium. The Hawkeyes have a winning record of 54-40-5 during homecoming football games, but recent history suggests Minnesota will be a difficult opponent for the Hawks.
