JOHNSON COUNTY, Iowa - By now you've probably dug yourself out from Blizzard 2012. But have you taken any time to enjoy it?

Across Eastern Iowa there are fields covered in snow, sheets of ice forming over lakes and icicles hanging from barns.

Sunday was a peaceful day at many of Iowa's state parks. TV-9 captured these images in Northern Johnson County, not far from the Coral Ridge Mall, where thousands of shoppers waited in long lines and fought for parking spots.

What a difference a few miles can make.
