Teen Killed in Benton County Crash

BENTON COUNTY, Iowa -- An 18 year-old died in a two car crash near Atkins on Tuesday night.

The Benton County Sheriff's Office identified Jacob Novak as the driver killed in the crash at the intersection of Highway 30 and 32nd Street.

Investigators say Novak was driving a Pontiac Grand Am that collided with another car. Samantha Ary, 20, of Garrison, Kyle Kirchner, 22, of Vinton and a 1-year-old child were also in Novak's car. All were taken to the hospital but expected to survive.

Two people in the other car, Dylan Strong, 27, of Fairfax and Brenda Skalsky, 23, of Walford, also suffered non-life threatening injuries.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation
