DUBUQUE, Iowa - Dubuque County Supervisor Eric Manternach says Sunnycrest Manor Administrator Cathy Hedley has resigned. Manternach says Hedley's last day is Friday. This comes two days after the board made a decision that upset many Sunnycrest employees.

A budget shortfall has the board looking at ways to cut back on how much it spends on the facilities operating costs.

On Monday the Board of Supervisors agreed to hire Health Dimensions Group, a consulting firm, to advise them on what to do next.
Sunnycrest employees told supervisors they worry hiring the firm was a step toward closing the facility. Supervisors say they do not plan to close the facility but are looking for a way to trim Sunnycrest's $3.5 million annual budget.
