LISBON, Iowa -- Superintendent Brad Laures says the goals and standards for Lisbon High School athletics will be discussed with members of the wrestling team at a meeting tonight.

Parents are also invited to attend.

This comes after the wrestling team unexpectedly canceled two practices last week as well as a meet against Northeast and Maquoketa Valley on Thursday in Delhi.

“There is a student behavior issue we are looking into right now,” Laures told KCRG-TV9 last week.

Laures says the school followed up with an investigation into the student conduct issue, but would not elaborate further other than to say it did not involve student hazing.

He issued a statement today saying "Lisbon Community Schools takes any accusation of bullying or harassment seriously and will continue to follow our board policy to its fullest extent to make sure our school environment is safe for all students."
