Storm System to Bring Wintry Mix to Eastern Iowa

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - A rain/snow mix is expected to develop tonight and continue into the day on Sunday. Areas that see snow may see up to an inch accumulate with isolated areas in far Northern Iowa seeing about an inch and a half.

While most areas will see less than an inch, roads are still expected to be slippery through the day. Drivers are encouraged to use caution Sunday as we all need to re-learn our winter driving skills.

Areas south of I-80 will mainly see rain. Temperatures will hover in the mid 30’s through the day, but fall into the teens as we head to Monday morning. The chill continues for the first half of the week before gradual warming kicks in.
