JOHNSON COUNTY, Iowa - Heavy snows sent many cars into ditches throughout Johnson County. The Department of Transportation issued a “travel not advised” warning for the area for much of the morning. Despite the warning, emergency crews spent time helping drivers out of their vehicles.

Several cars went off the road between Coralville and North Liberty on Highway 965. There were also reports of vehicles in the ditch along Interstate 380 in Johnson County.

The heaviest of the snow appeared to fall around 10:30 Monday morning. At times visibility was nearly zero because of large and heavy snowflakes.
