WATERLOO, Iowa - Gunfire erupted in a Waterloo park Sunday evening.

The shooting happened in Lower Gates Park at about 6:46 p.m. while a number of people were participating in a basketball game nearby, according to Waterloo police.

No injuries were reported, and the suspect fled before officers arrived. No arrests have been made in the shooting.

The incident remains under investigation, police said.
