Sexual Assault Reported on Univ. of Iowa Campus

IOWA CITY, Iowa - A University of Iowa student said that they were sexually assaulted by three men Jan. 27.

According to UI, the student told university staff that they were walking along the west bank of the Iowa River near the railroad tunnel by the arts campus when they were approached by three college-aged men. The three men sexually assaulted the student, according to the university. The incident was reported to the UI officials Tuesday.

The student described the alleged assailants as two "large," white men and another man described as "mixed race" or possible Hispanic. One of the men was wearing a Hawkeye sweatshirt, according to the university.
