ANAMOSA, Iowa - A missing kindergartner in Anamosa has been found safe following a brief search.

Strawberry Hill Elementary School staff called 911 shortly before 3:10 p.m. Wednesday to report that a child was missing.

According to the Anamosa Police Department, at the end of recess, while other children were lining up to return to class, the 5-year-old boy ran from teachers.

Law enforcement and school staff searched a wooded area near the school, where a Jones County sheriff's deputy located the boy hiding under a small creek bridge.

The boy, who was wearing a snow suit, gloves and a stocking cap, was not injured.
