Runners Turn Heads in Red Dresses

By Rachel Begle

DAVENPORT, Iowa (AP) - A crowd of a couple hundred runners in red dresses, shorts, tights and wigs drew plenty of attention this weekend as they raised money for a good cause.

The Quad-City Times reports the local Hash House Harriers group held the fun run Saturday to raise money for the Wounded Warrior Project nonprofit.

The charity run was dedicated to the memory of Flynn Schulz who died last August at the age of 33 after a fall.

Run coordinator Mandy Wright says the event has grown significantly over the past four years. This year, 220 people signed up to run.
