Run the Flood Donates Thousands of Dollars to Matthew 25

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — Matthew 25’s Block by Block program has received a $10,000 donation from the Cedar Rapids Run the Flood organization, Matthew 25 announced on Monday.
Kari Lammer, Run the Flood race director, presented the $10,000 check to Clint Twedt-Ball, co-executive director of Matthew 25.
Run the Flood held its fourth annual run on June 9 to raise funds for the community’s recovery from the June 2008 flood.
In the past four years, Run the Flood has raised over $100,000 for local charities.
Mathew 25’s work focuses on housing rehabilitation, new-home construction and youth education programs and the group also grows vegetables as part of what it calls Iowa’s first urban farm.
