MARENGO, Iowa - Authorities said a Belle Plaine woman died in a rollover crash Wednesday afternoon.

Corie L. Kinkead, 31, was pronounced dead at the scene after the crash on County Highway V66 about one mile south of Marengo. Deputies responded around 4:25 p.m. and determined Kinkead was the only passenger in the vehicle.

Sheriff Robert Rotter said in a news release Kinkead was northbound in a sport-utility vehicle when she lost control and the vehicle rolled into the west ditch. Kinkead had been wearing a seat belt.

No information about a cause for the crash was released.
