Robbery Reported at Gasby's Convenience Store

IOWA CITY, Iowa – Iowa City police are trying to find a man who robbed a convenience store early Saturday morning. An employee of Gasby’s at 2303 Muscatine Avenue told police that she was robbed.

According to the witness, a black male entered the store at 2:28 a.m. and started to buy something so the register would open. The suspect then reached over the counter and grabbed an undisclosed amount of cash. The male then fled the store. No one was injured and no weapon was used.

The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 6’2”-6’4”, 220 lbs and had a mustache. He was wearing a grey shirt, jeans and a blue hat.

Anyone with information should contact Iowa City Area CrimeStoppers. They’re offering a $1000 award to anyone with information leading to an arrest.
