CEDAR RAPIDS - A Cedar Rapids man told police he was robbed early Sunday morning, and the suspects even took his shoes.

Fidel Martinez-Ruiz, 40, told officers he was walking back to his car in the 2400 block of Mount Vernon Road SE around 3 a.m. when he was jumped by two men. According to the police report, the men yelled at Martinez-Ruiz and punched him in the face several times.

The men took his wallet and his shoes, police said. At least one female stood by and watched, according to the report.

Martinez-Ruiz later drove himself to Mercy Medical Center for treatment. Complete descriptions of the suspects were not available. Police have not made any arrests.
