Reward Money in Roundtree Homicide No Longer Available

  • Photo
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - A $5,000 reward offered for tips leading to the arrest of the person responsible for a shooting death last month is no longer available.

Latasha N. Roundtree, 19, died in the early-morning hours of Sept. 23, a few hours after she was shot in the head in the 600 block of 16th Avenue SW in Cedar Rapids. The next day, police said a person who wished to remain anonymous had come forward offering the large reward.

Sgt. Cristy Hamblin said Thursday the person who offered the reward has since died. She said the person had no connection to Roundtree or her family. Hamblin did not know the reason the reward was offered.

Reward money is still possible through Linn County Crime Stoppers, if the information provided leads to an arrest. All calls to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-CS-CRIME (272-7463) are anonymous.
