Renovations Underway at Site of New Dubuque Humane Society

By Jay Knoll

DUBUQUE, Iowa--Renovation is underway inside the future home of the Dubuque Humane Society. The building located on the west side of town used to be home to Carlisle Ryan Publishing.

The Dubuque Humane Society has been working since 2008 to move to a new location. The group finalized a deal on this building back in July. The new facility will allow for expanded adoption and community learning centers.

"We are going to have the most amazing animal resource center in the area, it's going to be incredibly warm, inviting, we are going to be able to put out healthier animals that more people want to adopt," said Jane McCall, President of the Dubuque Humane Society.

The Humane Society hopes to have the new building up and running by June 1st.
