CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - A light mix of precipitation is possible for this evening in parts of eastern Iowa. Accumulations will be very minor, generally under an inch, but some patchy slick travel could occur. South of I-80, this light precipitation will be a mix, with little to no accumulation expected.

This weekend’s system will bring a mix of rain and snow to the region beginning Saturday night and going through Sunday. A trace-2” of snow appears likely at this time. Northeast Iowa will be on the higher end of that range, and it again seems that south of I-80 will have little to no accumulation once again.

Overall, another pretty weak system with Minnesota taking the hit. Winds will increase during the day on Sunday giving us typical December cold for Monday and Tuesday.
