RAGBRAI: John Visits Iowa's Only Grass Tennis Court

WATERLOO, Iowa - It's day five of Ragbrai and John Campbell and Old Yeller are still going strong. In fact, John finishes the rides so fast he has time go do Lawn Tennis features.

When riders left Charles City Thursday morning, most of them had no idea they were about a mile from one of the neatest sports venues in the state. It's the All Iowa Lawn Tennis Club, and it is the only grass tennis court in our state.

On the Kuhn family farm near Charles City, you'll find the court. Building a grass tennis court was the dream of club founder Mark Kuhn since 1962 when he did chores on the cattle feedlot where the single grass court is now located.
