SIOUX CITY, Iowa (AP) — The U.S. Postal Service says it will close two offices in Sioux City, leaving just one full-service location in the community.

The service announced Friday that the Northside and Morningside locations will close Sept. 16.

The Sioux City postmaster says three full-time and two part-time workers will be affected but those jobs won't be lost, just re-positioned.

The service has been reviewing 3,700 of its 32,000 offices nationwide, including 178 in Iowa, in an effort to reduce costs. Most are in small towns and have low volumes of business.

The service announced earlier this year that Sioux City's mail-processing center would close and those operations transferred to Sioux Falls, S.D.
