Possible Presidential Candidate Attends Marion Fundraising Event
MARION, Iowa - A potential 2016 presidential candidate made a visit to Marion Saturday, meeting a Democratic fundraising group.
It was the second stop in Iowa in as many days for Minnesota Senator Amy Klobuchar. She spoke at the Linn County Phoenix Club, which raises funds for Democratic candidates.
Last night, Klobuchar delivered the keynote address at an annual Democratic fundraiser in Clear Lake.
EMILY's List put the second-term senator on its list of female lawmakers who could be viable candidates for the White House.
"I would support her as a vice president but I strongly support former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton for presidential candidate," said Kathy Winter, who attended the Clear Lake event.
But Klobuchar made no mention of any presidential plans in Clear Lake. She says she was there to support Iowa Congressman Bruce Braley's (D-Iowa 1st) run for U. S. Senate.
Klobuchar insists she's focusing on being a Senator. But her trip through Iowa is only fueling speculation of her future political goals.
