Police Searching for Suspected Jewelry Burglar

IOWA CITY, Iowa - Police are looking for a man suspected of burglarizing the Bella Joli jewelry store in Iowa City early January 28.

The suspect was caught on a pedestrian mall surveillance video before Bella Joli, 125 S. Dubuque Street, was burglarized about 3:40 a.m., and he was seen fleeing the scene immediately after, according to Iowa City police.

The man got away with several pieces of jewelry, according to police.

He is described as a white male who was last seen wearing blue jeans and a very distinct all-black hooded winter coat with white fabric accents beneath the sleeves, police reported.

Iowa City Area CrimeStoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest of a suspect. Anyone with information can call CrimeStoppers at 358-8477.
