Police Searching for Romantix Robber

IOWA CITY, Iowa - Iowa City Police officers were dispatched to the Romantix store at 315 Kirkwood Avenue at 10:56 p.m. Tuesday for a robbery. Police say a female employee at the store said a man came into the store, threatened her and demanded she give him money.

The woman said she retreated from the suspect who grabbed cash from the register and left the store. She says the man did not show a weapon during the robbery, and she was not hurt by the incident.

Police are searching for the suspect described as 6'1, thin and light-skinned. He is believed to have been wearing a navy or dark colored hooded sweatshirt pulled over a ball-cap. He was also wearing dark-colored shorts and sneakers.

The investigation into the robbery is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact Iowa City Area CrimeStoppers at 319-358-TIPS. A reward up to $1000 is being offered for information that leads to an arrest.
