Police Search for Two Men Following Iowa City Robbery

IOWA CITY, Iowa - Iowa City Police are investigating a robbery that happened in the 900 block of S. Gilbert Street Monday morning. The victim says two men approached him outside Varsity Cleaners around 1:22 a.m. and demanded he hand over his wallet, keys and cell phone.

Police say one of the two men hit the victim on the back of the head during the robbery. The man was not seriously injured. Officers searched the area around the site of the robbery using a city K-9. The team found the victim's keys and cell phone.

Officials are looking for help in identifying the two men they say are suspects for the robbery. Iowa City Area Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
