By Christy Aumer, Reporter
WATERLOO, Iowa - Police are investigating after two people were injured with a utility knife Monday evening.
Officials responded to a reporting of a stabbing and shooting around 10:50 p.m. at 133 Lobdell Rd. Upon arrival, officers found Harold W.P. Adams, 25, and Kenneth R. Horton, 50, both of 133 Lobdell Rd. with non-life threatening injuries. Adams had a laceration to his forehead, and Horton had lacerations on his hand, authorities said. Both were taken to Covenant Medical Center by private vehicle.
Witnesses told police, a white male used a utility knife to cut the victims. He also slashed all four tires on a Ford Van parked outside the residence, and fired a shot from a handgun before leaving the area. The shot did not injure anyone, authorities said.
The suspect has not been located, but Captain Tim Pillack said he is an acquaintance of the victims and authorities are currently searching for him.
The case remains under investigation.
