Police Say Mason City Man Beat Suspected Burglar

MASON CITY, Iowa (AP) Authorities say a 56-year-old Mason City man was hospitalized after being beaten by an apartment resident who said the man had broken into his home.

The Mason City Globe Gazette reports that Brian Glascock was arrested Thursday.

Police say the apartment resident had called 911 to report he was being attacked by someone. Police say the resident fought back, beating Glascock so severely that Glascock required hospital treatment.

Cerro Gordo County Jail records say Glascock remained in custody on Friday, pending $25,000 bail on a burglary charge. Online court records don't list the name of his attorney.
