Police Investigate Three Crashes in Waterloo

WATERLOO, Iowa - Waterloo police are investigating three crashes that occurred within hours of each other Sunday night.

Three people were hospitalized following the first crash at the intersection of Washington Street and East Mitchell Avenue. All three had non-life threatening injuries. Police were called to the scene around 9:00 p.m. Officials tell TV9 the crash occurred after one vehicle turned in front of the second vehicle.

Police are searching for the driver who left the scene of the second crash at the intersection of La Porte Road and Hawthorne Avenue. Police were called to this crash at 10:00 p.m. Sunday. At least one person was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The crash remains under investigation.

The third crash occurred just 15 minutes later at 10:15 p.m. At least one person was hospitalized following the crash at the intersection of University Avenue and South Hackett Road. Police have not released the person's name, age or condition. This crash is still under investigation.
